Student Success Team

The purpose of the Student Success Team is to help all students navigate and be successful in their academic path while attending Salish Kootenai College, with emphasis on First Year students and campus wide retention and persistence efforts.

Student Success Coaches are part of the Department of Academic Success, located in the Alec Quequesah Building.

The Student Success Team is comprised of a group of caring coaches who work to support students academically and personally, serving as a connection to on and off campus resources related to, but not limited to: adjusting to college life; academic needs, such as free tutoring; personal issues and mental wellbeing; funding for college and textbooks; housing; daycare; time management; and employment.  The Student Success Team provides referrals for counseling, tutoring, and other services, as well as acting as liaison between students and faculty or other services to provide support and encouragement, while assisting the student to determine the best plan of action to achieve academic success. Faculty and staff may refer students to the Success Team to support individual student needs.  However, students are welcome to come directly to the Success Team offices, call, or email at any time.

Special Program Exceptions

Students will meet with the assigned DAS Success Coach OR be directed to meet with another member of our Campus Student Success Team if the student is enrolled in another program.
