Business majors will learn the ins and outs of all types of organizations, including non-profits, tribal businesses, large corporations, small businesses, and start-ups. Areas of instruction include leadership, management, accounting, business law, finance, marketing, and entrepreneurship. Students can receive their AA Business Management or BA in Business Administration.

AA Business Management

The Business Management Associate of Arts program at SKC aims to equip students with foundational knowledge and skills in business management. Through a diverse range of courses, including accounting, economics, marketing, and human resource management, students will develop a comprehensive understanding of the business world. Graduates will be prepared for entry-level positions in business management or to continue their education in a bachelor's degree program.

Business Management AA Curriculum

Careers available to graduates include starting a new business or growing an existing one, employment with tribal enterprises in administrative and managerial positions, and program manager level positions with tribal governments and non-profit organizations.

  • Applying financial and managerial accounting principles to new and existing businesses
  • Using marketing practices as a set of processes for creating, capturing, communicating, and delivering value to customers
  • Creating a business model for a new business
  • Communicating business concepts in a clear and concise manner
  • Utilizing information technology and software tools to solve business problems

There are no special requirements or prerequisites to start working towards this degree program. SKC does require students to complete a writing and math assessment in order to get them started in the correct English and Math courses.

BA Business Administration

The Business Administration Bachelor of Arts program at SKC provides students with a broad understanding of business principles and practices. Many business administration students enter professions where core responsibilities include project management, often pursuing advanced certification to validate your expertise in running any kind of project.
