Summer TCU Conference 2025 “Moving Forward through the Fog”

Conference Agenda and Registration

The Salish Kootenai College (SKC) Summer TCU Conference, “Moving Forward through the Fog,” is set to convene from July 28-31, 2025, on the SKC campus. This annual gathering offers a vital opportunity for professionals across Tribal Colleges and Universities to connect, share insights, and strategize for the future. For many of you, this conference is a familiar and valuable touchstone, and we look forward to welcoming you back.

This year’s conference is designed to foster a dynamic exchange of ideas, addressing the strategic themes and operational challenges that are most relevant to TCUs today. We aim to provide a comprehensive platform for learning and collaboration, equipping attendees with the knowledge and connections needed to navigate the evolving educational landscape.

The conference will commence on Monday, July 28th, with registration followed by dinner and a keynote address by Scott Davis, Assistant Secretary – Indian Affairs, U.S. Department of the Interior. His remarks will undoubtedly offer valuable perspectives as we embark on a productive week.

Throughout Tuesday and Wednesday, attendees will participate in focused breakout sessions addressing key areas of university administration. These sessions will delve into critical themes such as the current status of financial aid regulations, strategies for optimizing budgets with limited resources, and the latest in accreditation practices. Discussions will also cover essential aspects of campus life, including mandatory reporting, Clery Act compliance, and developing human-centered human resources policies.

A significant strength of this conference lies in its emphasis on cross-departmental dialogue and the sharing of best practices. The program is structured to facilitate collaboration among various administrative functions, recognizing that the challenges and innovative solutions within TCUs are often interconnected. This collaborative spirit culminates on Thursday, July 31st, as the conference joins forces with the TCU Presidents’ Summer Meeting. This unique session provides an invaluable opportunity to share key insights and themes from our discussions directly with TCU leadership, ensuring that our collective work informs the broader strategic direction for all Tribal Colleges and Universities.
