Social Distance Working Session

Members present: Jim Durglo, Ronda Howlett, Jennifer Finley, Jamie Courville, Nich’e Caye, Felicia Paul and President Sandra Boham.

Members absent: 1 Vacant Board Position

Others present: Dan Durglo, Stacey Sherwin, Audrey Plouffe, Tracie McDonald, Nick Roberts, SKC Foundation; Alice Caye and Tommie Linsebigler.

Meeting Call to Order
Jim Durglo, SKC Board Chair called the SKC Board of Directors meeting to order at 12:15 pm with the opening prayer by Ronda Howlett.

Request to Offer Academic Programs At-Distance
SKC Administration requests that the SKC Board of Directors provide approval for the College to offer programs At-Distance. The US Department of Education provided a COVID-19 waiver to offer distance education programs. The waiver expires December 31, 2020.

Motion by Jamie Courville to approve offering Academic Programs At-Distance. To submit a Substantive Change Proposal asking to be approved to offer distance education programs. Second by Ronda Howlett. Voting 4 For, 0 Against, 1 absent (Jennifer Finley), 1 board vacancy. Motion carried.

Grant with Head Start/Chief Dull Knife College
Motion by Ronda Howlett to approve Salish Kootenai College partnering with Chief Dull Knife College as an educational site to offer classes with the Head Start Grant. Second by Nich’e Caye. Voting 4 For, 0 Against, 1 absent (Jennifer Finley) 1 board vacancy. Motion carried.
