Salish Kootenai College seeks comments from the public in preparation for a periodic evaluation by its regional

accrediting agency.

The College will undergo a comprehensive evaluation visit October 8-10, 2013, by a team representing the Northwest

Commission on Colleges and Universities, the regional authority on educational quality and effectiveness for

higher education institutions in the Northwestern United States. Salish Kootenai College has been accredited by

the Northwest Commission since 1977. The College had its last full accreditation visit in 2003; accreditation was

reaffirmed in 2012 on the basis of a Year One Report (of a Seven Year Cycle).

As part of the regular NWCCU accreditation process, the evaluation team will visit the College on October 8-10 to

gather evidence that the self-study report is comprehensive and accurate. Following its review, the team will make a

recommendation to the Commission regarding continuing status for Salish Kootenai College. The Commission itself

will take the action regarding accreditation status.

Comments must be received by September 10, 2013. Only signed comments will be considered.
