Program Description
The Business Management curriculum provides students with the essential business skills and knowledge necessary to achieve success in starting a business and in creating new job opportunities. Students receive experience in creating a business plan and a marketing plan for a new or existing business.
Management techniques, accounting practices, and legal
requirements are emphasized; written and oral communication skills are developed. The Business Management Department works closely with the business community to coordinate the appropriate skills, knowledge, and experiences to prepare students to become eff ective entrepreneurs.
Specific Objectives
Upon completion of the Business
Management A.A. degree, students will:
- Plan for business development.
- Manage a growing business.
- Supervise employees.
- Control business operations
Upon completion of the Business
Entrepreneurship B.A. degree,
students will:
- Recognize business initiative opportunity
- Explore resources for business opportunities
Requirements
A student must receive a “C” or better in all required courses while maintaining an overall grade point average of 2.0 to graduate.
